Intergenerational trauma's effect on the mental health and treatment of black americans, second place winner of 2019 eckles prize of research excellence
In this award winning paper I examine the phenomenon of intergenerational trauma, the relationship it has with Black American's reservations about psychological counseling, and how practicing psychotherapists can take intergenerational trauma into account when treating their Black patients.
Diagnosing and curing an uninformed citizenry
This research paper is what solidified my desire to go into research as a career and become a professor. In it I synthesize research done by leading researchers in the ongoing discussion of what makes an informed citizenry and make my own case for the state of our democracy as well as pose a solution for our so-called uninformed citizenry.
